Dark room- Double Exposure

How did I create this image?
I exposed my background first, which is the shadow of the tree.  Then I put my exposed sheet in my drawer and put the second negative into the enlarger. After the teststrips I pulled out the exposed sheet and exposed it again. This time with the other negative and then I developed it and this great contrast was created.
Do I like how it came out? 
Yes, I like it for sure. The contrast between the branches and the girl with the dog looks so great and it created an very interesting picture.
Where is my focal point in this picture?
I'd say it is the shadow of the tree/ the trunk of it. It is the darkest point in the whole picture.

How did I capture reflection?

 It's reflecting in the window

Did I get any unexpected image in my picture?

I didn't even see it's also reflecting on the top and in the object itself. When I took the picture I only saw the reflection to the left, the other ones I noticed when I was working with the picture in photoshop.

Did I have any trouble getting a close up image?
No, I didn't have any problems.
Is my background blurry or in focus?
It is blurry.
What do I like best about close up photos?
That I can see so many details of one object.

Photoshop: Background change & blemish

 It was definitely helpful to know how to blemish. Now I could change my pictures if I don't like a blemish on it. But still... I don't think I'll use it much because people should be proud of how they look like and shouldn't change it on pictures. But yes, it was interesting.

I like that it looks real, There could really be a building in front of a mountain. Sometimes it was hard to get clear borders/lines because my tool I used just did whatever it wanted. I didn't like that.

Architecture

I tried to catch buildings or details from buildings with an interesting pattern. I was successful because I've already found some at school and didn't even had to take some at home.
I wanted to create an interesting picture. At my picture the bench and its shadow is leading through the picture in a little curve. I really like it.

A#11 Point of view; A#12 Pets

I put the brush next to the sink ( that's the sparkle in the background) I wanted it horizontal and at the same high as the sink, so I had kneel down to take a picture straight through the brush. So I'd think my angel was the ant's angle, so basically I put my camera on the ground to take the picture.

Actually, it was not easy to take a picture of my pet because it was always moving and wanted to do something more exciting than "posing for my camera". It was luck to get him licking his nose. It is a different picture. He is not just sitting around, it makes it more interesting. I also payed attention to the rule of thirds, the dog is not in the middle of the picture which makes it even more interesting.

Lighting

I chose the picture because it has an interesting lighting. I used background lighting, which means The light is behind the fruit. It makes the fruit "turn" black but on the corners caught a little bit of the light. That's what it makes it interesting- looking. 

Panning

My shutter speed was at 1/60 an yes, it is a panning picture. I followed the basketball with my camera, so that the basketball is in focus and the people are blurry.

People and Light/shadow

For this picture I chose aperture at 2 and I used the light coming in from the window.  It wasn't a sunny day, it was cloudy, so it is not a bright light which is shining trough the window but it's still light enough to set contrasts.

At this picture everything was dark around the lantern except the candles in the lantern which were shining trough it and have created some interesting shadows, which were reflecting on the kitchen counter. I used also aperture 2 and the shutter speed was at 15.

Photoshop self portrait

This is my self portrait. At first I changed the color to like a red/orange- ish because red and orange are my favorite colors, and I cannot decide which one I like the most.
When I started adding the color it was too light so I changed the contrast.I also changed it that you can see a little bit more my make-up because I wear it almost every day.
The picture wasn't clear enough so I sharpened it a little bit so that,for example, you can see all the little hair more. I also chose red for my hair because I want to dye my hair eventually.Or just highlights, I'm not quiet sure. But eventually the color will be a brown or like a dark red- almost brown.

Scavenger Hunt/ Studio Portrait

How did I like working with a digital camera compared to the 35mm film camera?

I liked it very much. First of all, it wasn't that much work. You could just have fun taking pictures, upload them and look at them and also, they are colored. You didn't have to worry about how your film will come out, or if you messed up with rolling your film. It was easier, at least that's what I think.

At this picture there is an interesting lighter/ yellow spot in the right-hand corner. It is a good contrast compared to the rest of the picture. I didn't zoom in to the snow, I zoomed in behind the snow, which makes the picture more interesting.

At this picture I used a light and hold it  to the right, that I would get shadow on the left side of his face. Because of this, the face looks "real", like three dimensional. That's what I wanted to show here. I really like the shadow because it goes around parts of his eye but the eye is still light. The shadow looks very interesting because of that.

Solarization

This is my favorite picture of my four I have done. I put it into the developer for about 20 seconds, took it out and after that I exposed it for 2 seconds. After that I did the regular process. The pictures I put less in the developer for the first time where lighter and there was more a difference between the black and the white. The longer it was in the developer, the more dark the white got's. It turned more to a grey-ish tone.
I would use this process if I want to show the differences between the black and the white. If I only want that the viewer sees the shape of the things in my pictures and not the detailed stuff.

A#4 High Contrast

Did I get my high contrasts at both pictures?

Yes,I got it.

Why?

At the first picture I got the contrast because the sun was shining. So because of that there was a high contrast between the tree and the sky.

At my second picture I already used a black scissor laying on something white. So there was the contrast.

But at both of my pictures the enlarger,which was on contrast 5 helped a lot to get the black really dark and the white really light.

Do I like how my pictures turned out?

Actually, yes I like them. FirstI thought they won't be that good, but they look nice!

Dodge & Burn

What did I think about doging and burning?
It's nice to manipulate the pictures to make them look more interesting.

Did I enjoy the progress?
Yes, definitely. It was fun, a little bit stressful, but still, it was fun to make changes on it.

Will I ever use it again?
Yes, I guess. It makes it look better, so why not?

My favorite picture:

I dodged the sunlight for about 4 to 5 seconds, so now it looks more smooth. I also burned the left side for about 2 seconds, that I'll have one area which is a little bit darker then the others. It makes it more interesting. And my F-stop was three clicks closed.

A#3 Depth of Field Photos



 

 

The aperture was at f22 and my shutter speed was at 1/250. With the small aperture the foreground is focused and the background is blurry, which gives me a long depth of field. So if you look at the picture you concentrate on what's going on in the front. So I wanted my focus on the little house for the birds and not on the background that's why I chose this aperture.



Actually now we should have chosen a picture with a larger aperture like f2.8, but because some of my pictures didn't came out that well, I  chose another picture, where I used the same settings. So f22 and shutter speed 1/250. Because I wanted to get my focus on the typical American mailboxes.

Photos from project one and two

It shows one of the stairwells at AHS. There you can see lots of different types of lines, which makes the picture just interesting.

This is a tree, which is growing in the breezeway. It shows texture and the leafs in the front are more focused then the leafs in the background because I wanted the focus in the middle of the picture, where you can see the texture of the picture.

This still life Shows three different kinds of boxes or vases. In combination with the window at the Background I wanted to create a natural, but interesting picture

 

At this picture I wanted to Show what most of the People are doing during the colf fall and/ or winter time: cooking. So the leafs at the Background should give you the idea of fall.

Troubleshooting

1. What have I found to be easier the second time around?
For me it was to develop our negatives. It felt like everything is going fasster and the first time i did this, I was so unsure. But the second time I knew what to do and it made lots of fun.

2.What trouble am I still having?
I have still Trouble with roling the film. If that doesn't work, the negatives could look so bad. The second time around I did some mistakes there, so not all my negatives were shown.

3.How is lightning in my images? Did I pay close Attention to my light meter every time?
I must say, no I didn't pay attention to this every time, sometimes I just forgot. But next time I'll work on that.

4. How crisp and clear are my images? Did I  adjust my shutter speed and aperture accordingly?
Some of my pictures are very clear and some don't. I think it is, because I changed my focus a lot or/ and used the wrong shutter speed. But I always checked both of them ( shutter speed and aperture) maybe I have just picked up the wrong ones?

What has been the most exciting part of Photography this year?

Right now it was taking pictures because that's what photography is, in my opinion.

What has been the most hardest part in photography this year?
For me it was to develop the film because at the first time we did that everything was new and kind of confusing. How long did the Fixer take or what ever. There were so many steps!
And I was worried to make some faults and I cannot see anything of my pictures.
